Hon Boey started Dialogic Studios after 10 years as an art director and graphic designer. He started his career as a junior designer at Pacific Magazines and moved his way through to become Lead Graphic Designer at Sydney Theatre Company. Within that he also spent 2 years in Japan studying and working.
Hon's work focuses on providing a visual voice for his clients that is honest, authentic and clear. He achieves this by creating a relationship that is based on two-way dialogue in which both him and his clients become co-creators of knowledge.
Hon has won several awards for his work at Sydney Theatre Company and has given talks at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (2018) and the This Is Not Art Festival (2016). He is also a lecturer of design at the University of Sydney.
Hon is also the co-founder of Other Worlds Zine Fair, a zine fair that began as a boycott of the MCA Zine Fair due to its ties with Transfield Holdings, the service providers for the Nauru and Manus Island detention centres. It is now in its fifth year.
